Dr Philip Baron
BChD (Leeds), MFGDP (UK) Principal Dental Surgeon

I qualified at Leeds University Dental School in 1981 and worked in nearby Oswaldtwistle for 7 years.

I bought Antley Villa as a single surgery practice in 1988, and quickly updated it to include 2 surgeries.

I have constantly strived to improve the practice, in 1999 I expanded the practice to 3 surgeries then in 2002 opened another 2 surgeries making 5 surgeries in the practice with a large, friendly, skilled and motivated team behind me.

My aim is for Antley Villa to be the best that it can be and for patients to enjoy their experience here and to benefit from a pleasant and friendly environment.

When I do have free time, I enjoy walking in the lake District with my wife Carol ( who is also my Practice Manager).

Dr Brian Chee
BDS (Sheffield) MFDS RCS (Eng)

Brian was born in London and grew up in East Sussex. He qualified from The University of Sheffield in 2002 and stayed in Sheffield for two years in general practice.

He later completed postgraduate training posts at Leeds Dental Institute and Manchester Dental Hospital, as well as working in Sydney and Melbourne Dental Hospitals.

He has completed a National Course in Conscious Sedation and is experienced treating nervous patients with his friendly and relaxed approach.

Brian has an interest in oral surgery, which he developed during 18 months as a Senior House Officer in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at North Manchester General Hospital. He is a member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

He is currently studying for a Masters Degree in Prosthodontics, where he is learning advanced techniques in dentures, crowns and implant supported restorations.

In his spare time he loves travelling and eating good food. For fun he enjoys snowboarding and martial arts.

Dr Shehzad Hameed
BDS (Liverpool)

I qualified from Liverpool University in 1993 and have 16 years experience in General Practice, working mainly
in Blackburn, but also a short spell in Manchester.
 
In addition to family dentistry, my special interests are in Cosmetic Dentistry and Endodontics (root canal
treatments), enjoying creating a pleasing smile for my patients.
 
I have a passion for dentistry and take care to keep up with the latest innovations and techniques. I
regularly attend dental training courses to ensure that my skills remain up to date.
 
On a personal side I am happily married with two children, a proud father of a boy and a 10 month old baby girl. In the little spare time I have, I enjoy
playing Golf in Summer and keeping fit, playing squash.

Dr Jeremy Thompson
BDS (London)

Jeremy came to Antley Villa in the summer of 2008 having worked in general practice for 15 years. He qualified as a dentist in 1992 at the Royal London and on graduating, spent 6 months as a resident Oral Surgeon in the same hospital. He met his wife at The London and they moved to her native Lancashire in 1993.

Jeremy has previously worked in practices in Burnley and Blackburn and is enjoying the new challenge at Antley Villa.

He is competent and experienced in all areas of general dentistry and enjoys the daily challenge of seeing patients maintain a healthy smile. He has a special interest in tooth whitening and endodontics (root fillings) and is a member of the British Endodontic Society. In 2010, Jeremy is undertaking further study in endodontics, leading to a Postgraduate Certificate. He also regularly attends the St Anne’s dental study group.

Jeremy’s wife worked at Antley Villa as a hygienist for several years before further training and is now a Tutor Dental Therapist.

They have two young girls, aged 2 and 8 months.

In his little spare time, Jeremy is a keen golfer and a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists. 

Dr Luke Rickman
BDS MSc MFDS RCS (Eng)

Luke is from Lancashire but qualified in Yorkshire in 2001 (Sheffield University).
He is driven by providing dental care of the highest standard in a gentle and caring manner.

Further to his dental qualification, Luke has a Masters degree (Manchester University)

In Prosthodontics reflecting advanced expertise in enhancing, replacing and repairing teeth.

He has published educational material on these topics in the Dental Press.

Luke has also been awarded the Diploma of Membership to the Royal College of Surgeons of England (Faculty of Dental Surgery) following an advanced 2 year training programme which included Sedation, Oral Surgery and dentistry for children.

When he does find time to relax, Luke likes to keep up with the world of sport, current affairs and Hollywood blockbusters.

I am a registered Dental Care Professional with the GDC (The General Dental Council).
I hold a Certificate in Health Care Reception.  I am also a member of the BADN (The British Association of Dental Nurses).

I endeavour to offer a warm friendly welcome to all, along with a caring professional approach.

Emily has been working as a Dental Nurse for 2 years and has recently acquired NVQ level 3 in Dental Nursing she is keen to further her knowledge in advanced courses such as Sedation and Dental Radiography.

Emily has a 4 year old daughter which keeps her busy, but when she does have spare time she participates in the sport kick boxing and enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Debra Schofield
Dental Nurse
Debbie is the newest member of the team and joined in September, she has recently qualifiied as a Dental Nurse after completing the NVQ level 3 in Dental Nursing.

Debbie has been working as a Dental Nurse for the last 2 years, she is now looking forward to attending post graduate courses in Sedation and Radiography.

Debbie really enjoys all aspects of Dental Nursing especially taking time to care for patients.

Sarah Goody

I started work at Antley Villa in 2004 in the capacity of Dental Receptionist initially, however after successfully completing my Dental Nurse Clinical Training I achieved my National Certificate in Dental Nursing in 2006. I now work in both areas competently.

I particularly enjoy the challenges of working in surgery and interacting with patients and caring for their needs and requirements.

Alison Heyes R.D.N
Dental Nurse Manager
Alison has worked at the practice now for 14 years; she is a qualified dental nurse and also qualified in assisting the dentists when carrying out conscious sedation, Certificate in Health Care Reception, ECDL, ILM First Line Management (NVQ level 3). She is a Registered Dental Nurse with the Association of Dental Nurses and the General Dental Council, and strives to advance in continuing professional development.
Alison is married with two children aged 15 and 6.

She is also a member of the British Association of Dental Nursing and a registered Dental Care Professional with the General Dental Council.

I am a Registered Dental Care Professional with the GDC (The General Dental Council).
I have worked at Antley Villa for 5 years.

I have many years of experience in both Dental Nursing and Reception. I have previous experience also as an Enrolled Mental Health Nurse.
