Our practice manager
Mrs Carol Baron
GDC Number 138587
I started working at Antley Villa when my husband Philip bought the practice in 1988, but only part time as I had 2 young boys. Then in 1992 I trained and qualified as a Dental Nurse, but still worked part time as I had another boy in1991.
I took further qualifications ie: Radiography. Conscious Sedation, Oral Health Education.
I have been working full time for many years now as Practice Manager which is never boring! Every day brings new challenges.
I am always striving to improve the Practice, to keep up to date with new innovations in Dentistry and to improve the service we provide for our patients and for Antley Villa to be the very best that it can be so that patients, staff and the Practice will benefit.
Since completing a Bachelor of Science degree and then a Masters of Science degree, during which I conducted research into Alzheimer’s disease, I went on to work for a pharmaceutical company in Essex. I then re-evaluated my career pathway and made a decision to move back to Lancashire.
I am delighted that an opportunity has arisen for me to work for my parents as Trainee Manager. I have been involved in the business from a young age, as I have looked after the garden for many years. It has always been a family business, including my two older brothers who look after practice maintenance – Richard is a plumber and Jonathan is an electrician.
I will be learning all aspects of managing a dental practice and will be following in the footsteps of my mother, Carol who has been the practice manager for the last 26 years and will continue with this whilst supporting me through my training. I will start training as a dental nurse from January 2015 so that I gain knowledge of every area of the practice.
I hope to continue to improve standards and services for all our patients as this has been the ethos for the whole team at Antley Villa over the last 26 years.
I look forward to meeting all of you and ensuring that you have the best possible experience when you visit.
When I do have spare time I enjoy cycling, walking, keeping fit, gardening, travelling and exploring new and interesting places.
