Tooth coloured fillings

Why have tooth-coloured fillings?

Fillings are one of the most basic methods of restoring teeth. At Antley Villa Dental Practice we use the most effective, modern, tooth-coloured materials. Unlike the more traditional grey amalgam fillings, the tooth-coloured ones look very natural, so no-one will be able to tell you have them.

Are tooth-coloured fillings long lasting?

Tooth-coloured fillings have been considered less long lasting than amalgam fillings but there are now new materials available with properties comparable to amalgam - they are strong and long lasting. How long they last will depend on where in your mouth the white filling is and how heavily you bite on it.

Explanation of animation: Amalgam fillings in the lower jaw can often be seen when we talk or laugh. But amalgam fillings can also sometimes be seen in the upper jaw. These can be unsightly and can also discolour the tooth. Composite (White) fillings are available to improve this.
